Kekkei Genkai Description: The Mogami found Mount Ashitaka in the same world of Mount Myōboku and Ryūchi Cave. However, they found a gigantic bird named Brighteye, the Revered Eagle of Mount Ashitaka. He carefully listened to their plight but learned of something interesting, and they went to his Mountains instead of traveling to the other two places in the Toads and Snake’s world. Brighteye honored them by being tied to their clan as long as they never aligned themselves with the Toads or Snakes. The Mogami Clan’s Matriarch founder and her husband initiated the Contract of the Revered Eagle on this fateful day. They have access to Brighteye’s Children as summons or familiars in their long, storied History of using Kyūjutsu. Brighteye chose his most hearty son, the hawk named Zephyr, to join the Mogami Clan and only return when he needs to relax back on Mount Ashitaka.

They gain access to Summoning Jutsu to summon the sons and daughters of Brighteye and even can summon the Revered Eagle himself if the dire of most circumstances are required to summon him. All the Birds of Mount Ashitaka enjoy the Mogami’s Matriarchal Rulership, but their female rulers are terrified Brighteye might eat them. Brighteye only hunts his enemies in the snakes of Ryūchi Cave. Also, the Sage Arts of the Mogami Clan are more focused on their Kyūjutsu or Bow Techniques than any flying in the sky as their bird summons do. They are focused on staying on the ground, but the eye color and shape turn into birds’ eyes. The eye color is silverish teal.

Mogami Kyūjutsu is a bow technique passed down through generations in the Mogami Clan. These techniques focus on the Five Bows of the Mogami Clan. They use these bows specifically on the ground while their bird summons primarily scout the skies and cause havoc in clusters of ninjas. All Mogami Clan members wield quivers with their bows, holding twenty arrows in them. These quivers are usually particularly important to holding their arrows, the bow, and summoning their Eagles.

Clan History

History: The Mogami Clan has always been from the lands of the storms, where they live. They weren’t much for traveling outside of their clan location, but whenever the lord of the land would call up for their bows, they would answer the call. All because they love their land and still love it. One of these calls to arms caused them to run into the most annoying clan from the Land of Fire, the Hyuuga Clan. They had a particular adept at being able to defend themselves 360 degrees. As if they had eyes behind their backs or some other superstition they decided to make on them. It caused the founder of the clan, specifically Hideko and her husband Shin’ichi, to find a solution to this problem. As such, they came across the Ashitaka Mountains to the north of their small clan village at the time. They traversed to where they found some particularly terrifying creatures, enormous birds, under the wing of Brighteye the Revered Eagle.

Hideko Mogami was taken aback when the Huge Bird named Brighteye accepted their pleas. She was utterly afraid of him, which showed in her body language, but all he asked in return was not to ally with the snakes or toads or any of the other summonable creatures. Only his children and he will be summonable, and they will be able to gain the wisdom and eyes of the skies. They accepted the pact, and from then on, they would summon and tie the Matriarch’s daughter to one of his children, Zephyr. Zephyr is a war eagle that had much wisdom to spare for the Mogami Clan members. It even included the parents of the one he was tied to because he sees the Mogami Clan as an extension of his family. These lessons usually get lost on the Mogami Clan since they don’t live unnaturally long lives as their summons. Therefore, Zephyr has to remind them and laugh at the scaredy-cat nature of the women in this clan.

Some of the Mogami Clan can choose not to summon the Mountain Ashitaka, Birds. Though, there was a new development in the lands of Storms when the Arashigakure was formed. They decided to move their entire clan from south of the Ashitaka Mountains to the outskirts of the Storm Village. They support the Arashikage wholly and show their support by sending their Matriarch to the meetings with the Arashikage. All to show everything is well in their clan, which is a task they enjoy and respect the honored Matriarchs of the past. There are two distinctive types of Matriarch in the Mogami Clan, one that is based around war and the other is based around peace. Namie’s mother used to be more based around war since she was a fearless Ranger-General for the Mogami Clan. Namie is a peaceful Matriarch, but she must be more about war whenever or if a war sparks. Though, her daughter Sayua Mogami is quite different compared to everyone in the village as of yet.

The reason is she doesn’t allow the old hatred of the Hyuuga Clan to blind her from what everyone wants. Sayua is a bit of a realist and an optimist. Still, her mother’s attitude problem against the Hyuuga Clan shows bygones of a forgotten era that the adults cannot possibly forget, forgive, or show hatred to them. Sayua and the new generation are trying to change from the ancient grudges of what the Mogami Clan have, only because she’s keeping an open mind to it. Unlike her mother, that is for sure, but Namie Mogami is one of those non-strict mothers, unlike so many other people.

The Mogami Clan is smaller than the other clans in Storm Village since they live on the outskirts of the village rather than in it. Their clan numbers are only a maximum of 300 members. They prioritize female heiresses over males because of their matriarchal structure. All Female Clan members have a right to become the next Matriarch of the Clan, but they need to bind their daughter to the hearty son of Brighteye, Zephyr.

Clan Members:
Rumi Mogami - The Previous Clan Matriarch, Retired and allowed Namie Mogami to be the new clan matriarch. She wished she could have stayed the clan matriarch, but her husband died too soon, so she decidedly retired. Rumi gives excellent advice not to use the most dangerous ability of the Swiftwind Bow of Lightning, and her daughter ignored that advice. Thankfully, Sayua Mogami didn't and knows she'll be better for the Mogami Clan than her rebellious idiot of a daughter is. The Lightning Chakra Barrier is a last resort-only ability, and she heavily emphasizes its last resort utility.

Exiled/Betrayers/Traitors Clan Members:
Nozomi Mogami - Betrayed/Traitor to the Mogami Clan because of her childhood friend Namie blaming her daughter instead of herself, never placed any responsibility in her actions when on accident activating the Lightning Chakra Barrier. Nozomi had to heal Namie Mogami throughout her whole life to help get her to be able to use Chakra since her Chakra Network, and those scars were there because of Namie's stupidity and not Sayua since she wasn't born yet.
